Hi there, I don't want to be a party pooper, but Conon Bridge is a village 2 miles outside Dingwall in the neighbouring county of Ross-shire and it lies in the Parish of Ferintosh. There is no (and as far as I know, never has been) a Conon Castle. There is Kinkell Castle which sits on the hill half a mile above the village and Brahan Castle used to sit a mile outside the village to it's west and the north side of the River Conon. Brahan Castle was the seat of the Earls of Seaforth, Chiefs of the Clan Mackenzie, until they died out and it was pulled down. The name Conon/Connon has no connection with the village and indeed is not even a Highland name. On the one interpretation, it is a variation of Conn, which is an Aberdeenshire name and on another Connor, which is Irish.
