I've just found where my gggrandparents were buried at Munerigie, Invergarry in a cemetery now submerged as part of a hydroelectric scheme in the 1940's. Their names were Ewen McDonald, merchant of Fort Augustus and Ann McDonnell who died 1858 aged 67. This small cemetery included Camerons Angus Cameron, shepherd of Glenfintaig, died 19 Nov 1930 aged 95 Catherine Cameron d 16 January 1893 Her husband Duncan Gilles 2 April 1872 aged 62 and their son William died 1865 aged 26 daughter Jessie died at Inchlaggan aged 16 Donald Gilles Christine McDonnell d. Leek 1902 sister Helen, nephew Donald ,gamekeeper Aberchalder His wife elizabeth cameron, died 1921 aged 66 Donald McDonnell 1822 John McDonnell, son of Donald Bhan McDonnell[ old Ground, Invergarry died 1880 and Jane Kennedy his wife and daughters Jessie died 1885 at Glendoe and sarah, Smithy Cottage, Invermoriston d 1911 My Ann is obviously related to these people. Christine according to the Mormans was Ewen and Anne's daughter but her death certificate says she was Donald and Isabella [also nee McDonell] McDonnell's child. My Ann's [Annie] death certificate however talks of her parents being Alexander and Catharine McDonnell. I know that inter family adoption was a common practice in those days. Please contact me if you want further detail as i have many of these people death certificates now
