----- Original Message ----- From: celia DAVIES To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, August 24, 2003 12:58 PM Subject: visit to inverness dear all Thanks to you all who replyed to my e mail posted on the 23rd aug ,you asked for names for the family members that i am trying trying to find so here goes on my grandfaters death cert John William Fraser =b,28th-9-1908 he died= 10th jan 1972 at 1a Leachkin road- Inverness at 1515hrs aged 63yrs his usual address was 21 innes street,Inverness his occupation was Coach painter his father john william fraser =occupation= gardener his mother williamina Fraser,nee -Gilmour and the witness on his death certificate was his brother inlaw =William Nairne my grandmother was Louisa jane Smith ,who worked as a maid somewere in or around inverness,b,feb 1907 in ,northwales she did not marry John fraser=my grandfather my mother was b ,28thnovember 1935 in inverness,but here it gets confussing as we are not sure if she is Elizabeth jane smith or Robertson (Robinson)as she does not know if she had her step dads sir name or what ,as my gran appears to have married in inverness,( as we have found a wedding photo taken in inverness years after my gran died) but no marriage cert has ever been found and we know that my mums brother who died of polio was george Robertson (robinson) all the writen information i have is on the death cert.,we were told he never married and that he had 2 married sisters , my mothers only memory of her father was a dream she kept having around the time of her being 21 which was of her falling in the snow and being picked up by a man and her knee bleeding when she told my gran this dream she then told her the truth that the man was in fact her real father and that she had fallen and cut her knee on a piece of broken roof slate ,and she infact has a scar on her knee,other than that she has no memory of scotland i hope this is enough info for now any help would be wonderful thanks celia
