I was hoping that a reply re the graves at Balmacara would be posted to the list. My 3 x great grandmother Mary MACKENZIE born c1796 came from Balmacara. I have no idea as to her parents. Could someone please enlighten me as to the location of Balmacara. I had wondered whether I had misread where Mary came from as I had noted Balnacara not far from Lochcarron in R & C. Mary married 25 Dec 1821 Malcolm FINLAYSON - they lived at Janetown when John was bap. 1823, and Slumbay when Alexander was bap in 1825, John in 1827 and Duncan in 1829. Mary died in June 1830 and was buried in the Old Lochcarron Burial Ground. Two years later in December 1833 Malcolm Finlayson married Elizabeth Mackenzie born c1815 from Balmacara. I have no idea whether Mary and Elizabeth were related. Does anyone recognise these two Mackenzie women? I would be grateful if someone could tell me where Balmacara is. Evelyn Smith Sydney, Australia
