My great, great grandmother was Helen Gillanders born circa 1801 to Geo. (presumably short for George) Gillanders, a farmer, and Christina Stewart Gillanders. She married my great, great grandfather William MacGregor on February 27, 1820 in Galson, Stornoway, County of Ross & Cromarty. Helen Gillanders had a brother George who was born in July 1805 also in Stornoway, Ross & Cromarty. My great great grandmother Helen Gillanders MacGregor died in 1864. I am in the process of doing extensive research work on our Scottish roots and came across your message.
