Thought I'd check to see if anyone has links to the following family: William MCLEAN, from Inverness-shire, arrived in Pictou Harbor on the ship the Sarah in 1801, at the age of 11 (b. 1790). Later married Margaret CHISHOLM, daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Chisholm of East River, Pictou. Marriage date March 8, 1814 by Rev. Jas. McGregor. William's parents were Donald and Mary McLean of Inverness-shire (Kilmorach we believe). William and Margaret had 8 children: William (b. 1815) married Catherine McDonald Elizabeth (b. 1817) married William Polson John M. (b. 1821) married Lydia Balcom Daniel (b. 1823) married Lydia Fraser Mary (b. between 1824-1830) married Edward McLeod Margaret (b. 1830) married George McLeod Alpine (b. ???) married twice Helen Foster, then Grace Snow. The McLeans lived in the New Glasgow area for about 100 years, had farms on Fraser Mountain. Anyone having connections to this family, please respond by email. Also, want to recommend again Joyce Stewart as a very thorough and detailed researcher. She's wonderful - thank you Joyce! Her email: yore@ns.sympatico.ca Thanks, Rob and Dianne McLean
