Dear Marilyn, Did you manage to get any information about fishing in early 19th century? The notebooks of Baillie John Stuart provide much information on this subject in early 18th century. I would be interested in anything too in 19th century, particularly concerning Scots in the area of London. 'Fishings' or fishing rights attached to properties were sold and appear in the books of saisine I believe. Good luck, Jane -----Original Message----- From: Marilyn Kan <mkan@incentre.net> To: SCT-INVERNESS-L@rootsweb.com <SCT-INVERNESS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: 29 October 2000 00:32 Subject: [SCT-INV-L] Fraser of Lovat -- 1830s Beauly records of fishing >Seeking data , either your comment or possible sources particularly for Beauley, for fishing activities in Scotland of > Alexander Leslie > b. 1780s Bridge of Don, Aberdeen Scotland - d. 1870s Prince Edward >Island, Canada > In particular: > > I..at Uig, Lewis abt 1830, possibly involved with Mackenzies >of Seaforth were landlords until the 1840's.
