    1. [SCT-INV-L] Williamson's - 1881 Census Look-Up
    2. Gail Faibish
    3. Hello List, I'm back after several months of searching for my "travelling" Williamsons. Many were located in the INVERNESS 1881 CENSUS but then disappeared. I have tracked down there whereabouts in Canada - Montreal, Quebec & Toronto, Ontario. Ironically, my great great grandfather (who vanished) is buried in the same cemetery in Toronto as my great grandparents, grandparents and my Mom. I have just obtained his death certificate and now hope to find his parents in the 1881 Census. Could SKS please check for me. I would be forever grateful. My g g grandfather Lindsay Williamson was born 1843 in John O'Croats, Caithness according to his tombstone - the 1881 census indicates Dunnet, Caithness. I am now searching for his parents -- William Williamson b. abt. 1820 Ireland Mary Stewart b. abt. 1823 Ireland Can searches be made by using "Key Words" ie. Surname & Occupations? Many of my Williamson's I have been told moved to areas together. They were "Horse Dealers" and "Hawkers". Two appear on the same street in 1881 -- Lindsay Williamson & Mary McMillan Charles Williamson & Betsey McNeil Are there more? Any assistance would be helpful. Thank you in advance. Kindest regards ...... Gail Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
