I'm confused about Duirinish on and close to Skye. I've found the city of Duirinish, just east of Skye on Loch Carron. But, there is also an "area" (for lack of a better term) on Skye...the peninsula west of Loch Dunvegan, where McLeod's Table is found. I realize this is not a city or county (shire), but what exactly is it? A parish, perhaps? I have ancestors born Duirinish, Inverness, SCT. Am I to assume this refers to the city on the mainland, as there is no reference to Skye itself? Any insight here would be most appreciated. Joanie
