I'm still searching for anyone who knows the origins of the family. While it is Leek that was their first recorded location in 1818 when Alexander & Janet were married, some descendants believe this was not the ancestoral home. Cousins in NZ believe their ancestor Archie who was Alexanders brother came from Lochaber at a place called Auchluarach. Family history says he & Alexander went to Leek when they were very young after their parents died. This makes sense as Alexanders wife Janet nee MacDonell, was born directly opposite Auchlaurach at a place named Anahcochine (various spellings). Do you have any info on the origins of the family?
