In early 1802 they sailed (with children Christine and William) to Canada and settled in Glengarry County, Ontario. A ship's list states the family came from Ardachie, near Fort William, Inverness-shire. Any tips much appreciated as to how I might trace John and Margaret. They were on either the ship "Helen", "Jane" or "Friends" that sailed together from Scotland. Was Ardachie a village or simply a region near Fort William? How might I access records?
