Thanks to several kind people, I have, I think, traced my gr-gr-grandfather to Coillelmore (Skye). I understand it's just south of Portree. Does anyone have access to the 1851 census who could do a look-up for Charles MacLean, wife Mary, and daughters Anna, Jane, and Belle? Anna (Aannie?) would probably have been 4 yrs old then if her DC is correct. (There might be two Jane's: my gr-grandmother, daughter of his first wife, and another by Mary, second wife.)
