    1. [SCT-INV-L] Malcolm CAMERON and Margaret MARSHALL

    3. I am a new subsriber so thought best to identify myself and my connections to Inverness. According to 1881 Census I have the following about my gg grandparents. Malcolm CAMERON (Abt. 1818-19) was born in Fort William, and Margaret MARSHALL Cameron (Abt. 1819-20) was born in Letterfinley. I have their marriage registration of 1847 from Govan Parish, Lanark. Thus Malcolm and Margaret would have moved from Inverness by 1847, but they might be on the 1841 Census ... maybe in Fort William? I found an archive entry (which seems to now be inactive) about the 1841 census for the Fort William area. Could I ask if anyone might check for a possible lead to my CAMERON family? Malcolm and Margaret's children (the three I have identified: Allan (1848), Mary(1853), and Catherine 1858) were all born in Glasgow, Lanark. I have sent for other documents, including a birth of a Malcolm on a possible date ... but there is so little information on the old records, difficult to have any confidence I have found real connections. Family history (and tartans) is that we were from Camerons of Loch Eil, so that at least, seems to fit! Any suggestions most welcome. Nancy CAMERON Armstrong
