My ancestors Archibald McLeod (1817-1894) and his wife Jessie Nicholson (1822-1910) were both natives of Portree, Isle of Skye, Inverness Shire, Scotland. They reportedly married there in about 1846. The left Scotland in 1849, landing in Montreal, and settling by 1851 in Ashfield Township, North Huron County, Ontario, Canada. The information that I have for the parents of Archibald and Jessie is sketchy. Jessie's parents were reportedly Donald and Ann Nicholson. Archibald's parents were reportedly Malcolm and Ann McLeod/ MacLeod. I also have some names of siblings of Archibald McLeod, namely: Peggy, Malcolm, Catherine, Alexander, Mary, Roderick, Catherine and John, (although I think these are even sketchier).
