The 84th Royal Highland Emigrant Regiment was disbanded in Windsor in Oct 1783 and it was written that Mary McDonald, dau of John McDonald of Glen Urquhart (abt 1723) remained in Windsor and married another McDonald. In 1784 - The rest of the McDonald family relocated to Pictou County (East River-Upper Settlement) to the area known as the "Soldiers Grant" (Bridgeville and vicinity) a total of father John, 3 brothers and 3 sisters with wives and husbands
