    3. Greetings, This is my first post on this list. My great-greatgrandfather, John McDonald, was born about 1770 on the Knoydart peninsula in western Inverness-shire. John married Nancy MacKinnon and they had at least seven children, all born in Knoydart. Three of the children (including my great-grandfather) immigrated to Canada, and the other children immigrated to Australia. I am hoping to be able to find John and Nancy's marriage date and location. This is where I need some help. I have no idea which parish to search, assuming they married in Knoydart about 1795. Can anyone help? Would this parish have been microfilmed by the Mormon Church? Also, I believe that the Canadian immigration took place around 1853 so presumably the children should show up on either the 1841 or 1851 Knoydart Census [the children who immigrated to Canada were: John, Archibald, and Roderick (my great-grandfather)]. Again, can anyone point me in the right direction so that I may obtain the Census from the Mormon microfilm records? I hope to hear from someone in this regard. Sincerely, Joan Chapman (nee MacDonald) Montreal, Canada
