I am hoping to find marriage and death details and baptism records of a number of my father's ancestors from the Ardersier area. I do have some of the birth records and marriage details from the Scotland govt site. I am hoping that someone on the list is researching one/some of the names: BEATON; CAMPBELL; CLARK; DALLAS; DOBBINS; FRASER; MCDONALD; MCGRUER; MCKILLICAN; ROSS The people I know about but am hoping to find more on are: William ROSS b.? who married Margaret MCDONALD 3rd December 1841 Ardersier These are my great-great grandparents I am seeking the birth dates and to confirm the parents of this couple It is possible that Margaret McDonald was the daughter of Hugh MCDONALD a Grocer & Ann CAMPBELL It is possible that William Ross had been married before and had other children in Ardersier. In early records he is described as a Mason, later a Farmer and later still as a Contractor. William Ross & Margaret McDonald had: Hugh ROSS b. 17th December 1842 in Ardersier Hugh became a Minister of the Free Church of Scotland and married Isabella CLARK in Fort George Ardersier 1st June 1871 Isabella CLARK b. 9th Sep 1845 Ardersier d. 6th Oct 1888 Kilmarnock was the daughter of William Scott CLARK & Isabella MCKILLICAN William Scott Clark married Isabella McKilican 25th October 1844 Ardersier Isabella McKillican b. 5th Sep 1818 at Braicklaich d. 12th June 1858 Fort George Ardersier was the daughter of James MCKILLICAN (b. 1754 d. 1844) & Isobel/Isabella DALLAS (possibly b. 26th June 1797 to John Dallas & Margte Clark) William Scott Clark b. about 1818 or earlier, d. 31st May 1873 Fort George Ardersier was the son of James CLARK a Farmer & Margaret MCDONALD William S Clark was a General Merchant and later a Govt.
