The name Archibald is an uncommon one amongst the Laggan Macphersons, with the exception of a son born to Duncan of the Cluny family (later Clan Chief) in 1807 I have noted only 4 others, all seemingly connected with the Drumgask family that you mention- including the Archibald to Angus Macpherson and Jean Macpherson 8/3/1807. Have noted 3 baptisms to Archibald and Janet Cameron in Laggan, the first two at Drummin and Melgarve in the upper Spey valley and the third at Drumgask.
This is very interesting!!! Archibald/Jean, Lachlan, Ann and Duncan, are part of the family of Christina MacPHERSON, who put Banjo's "Waltzing Matilda" to music. I'll check out the others. Many thanks for your help. Yours aye.
