Dear All, Having decided to find out more of my Scottish past I went to the Scotland's People site. Here, knowing that my William was born about 1804-1806 in Ardersier I registered and entered Mackay Armstrong, McKay Armstrong, and the Armstrong and Mckay bits separately in the free search facility covering 1800-1810. Surprisingly there were no recordings of registrations in Scotland for those names over that period. Hence my query. How good is that search engine? Were there really no Mackays or Armstrongs being born, dying or getting married between 1800 & 1810? Enlightenment would be welcome please. John Armstrong Bartlett
