Aunt Annie married a widower Cpt.John MacLENNAN (1849c-1901) who was a riding instructor in the Royal Artillery. He was the son of Grace FOX and John MacLENNAN in Banffshire. At the 1901 census his daughters from his first marriage also lived at 1 Albyn Place, Island Bank or Dores Road, Inverness. Anyone know where Albyn Place was ? His two girls were:- GRACE AGNES MacLennan aged 20 (born Newcastle upon Tyne around 1879) and her sister EVANGELINE aged 16 ( born England ) She was named for her mother Evangeline Ruth SKINNER who was born in Sheffield about 1856. They had a brother JOHN JOSEPH Maclennan born in Canterbury, Kent a year later say 1880.Had he already left home by the 1901 census perhaps ? The family may have moved to 15 Kingsmills Road later as it was there that Annie received notice of her brother James' death in 1928.The Mackenzie family originated at Muir of Ord and Teanagairn. I'd be interested to know what became of these Maclennans - Grace, Evangeline and John.
