Hello All: Wondering if there are any MacIsaac's from South Uist that might be currently carrying out any research on ancestors that left South Uist for (Cape Breton Island) Nova Scotia between 1817-1823. My great-great grandfather Angus MacIsaac, brothers, Roderick (b. 1791), Alexander (b.1792), and Donald or John MacIsaac made the voyage across the Atlantic to Canada during those early years...and took up land grants in the St. Andrew's Channel area along the Bra d'or lakes on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. We have yet to determine from which area of South Uist was their ancestoral home....any help would be most appreciated.... Regards, Sandra MacIsaac
