The following is from a web entry "19. Cill Fhianan, [Finian’s Church] Kilfinnan, Laggan, Loch Lochy - Sadly the site of the original church, founded by St Finnan, was submerged during the construction of the Caledonian canal, though some grave-stones were removed and brought to the site of the later church." This is the site of the 15th MacDonnell chief's graveyard, mentioned in the previous email. As with John in 2005, I also have photos of both graveyards. If you'd like a photo or two, just let me know. Also, I see you're a New Zealander as am I. My sister and I have been doing our ancestry for a few years now. Our great grandmother, Johanna (Anne) MacDonnell, came to NZ with some of her siblings in about 1862. One of her brothers was Ewen MacDonnell who also had his wife with him and was about 28 years old at the time. He became a police chief at Green Island, Dunedin. Obviously, these aren't your direct relatives, but I'd be interested to know how we both fit into the Glengarry MacDonnell 'tree'. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you. Again, best wishes, Anne H
