GILLIS, Malcom (Malcolm) born possibly 1820s, emigrated from Skye area before 1842, found in area of PEI near Montague, lots 57,59 etc. Browns Creek/Heatherdale Spouse Catharine ROSS MacLEOD, John Duncan (born 1824 Skye or area) emigrated to PEI 1840 (ship Hermione/Heroine?) settled in Heatherdale area (lot 59) buried Valleyfield cemetery. (father named Duncan) MacKAY, Mary his spouse (born 1828 Skye or area) emigrated to PEI 1841 (ship Washington), also buried Valleyfield cemetery I can't yet locate the area in Skye where my GILLIS roots may have originated, not can I yet connect them with the GILLIS settlers of the Selkirk group at Orwell Cove.
