Surnames: McNEIL, McINTOSH/MacINTOSH, FRASER, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TeC.2ACE/1265.3 Message Board Post: Hi there, I have just been reading your query about your MacINTOSH connection, my 3xGt grandfather was born circa. 1806 in Dores, invernesshire, Scotland his name was John Forbes McNEIL, his paternal grandparent's were Angus McNEIL and Marjory McINTOSH/MacINTOSH, married at Dores 4th Oct 1764, I have not yet been able to find out why John had the middle name of FORBES, and I was wondering if it ws the surname of a male ancestor, or the maiden name of a female ancestor, as I have yet to come caroos it anywhere in my early lineage, I have so far found nothing more on either Angus McNEIL or Marjory McINTOSH/MacINTOSH, just thought I'd add my 2c worth, just in case! it seems from what research i ahev doen that the mcINTOSH,McNEIL and FRASER families were all very good at intermarrying, as probably was common of the time.
