Wilmer, My husband has 2 separate Skye connections. 1) He has MCLEOD, MCPHEE, MACDONALD from Glenelg to Glengarry County, Ontario 1794, on his father's side & 2) GILLIS, NICHOLSON, MCQUEEN from Peinchorran, Portree to mainly Lot 67, P.E.I. 1841. The earliest GILLIS I have is Archibald GILLIS, b. abt. 1809, Skye, m. abt. 1844 to Catherine NICHOLSON, d. March 13, 1888, PEI & was buried at Springton Cemetery. Right now, I am in touch with another GILLIS/NICHOLSON researcher & we are trying to sort out what other similarly named people from Skye to PEI might be connected.
