Order the film of the parish registers for the early 19th century for Nairn at your nearest LDS centre, and take time to go through them carefully looking for a mention of Alexander McIntosh, saddler. Alternatively, all Alexander McIntoshes, note the children and godparents -- note godparents for the Grant children too and you may be able to find an outline of your family.
