Thank you so much for the look-up, for it lends another factor to the possibility that this is my family. I will look into the Catholic records. I hadn't known they had been kept.... As well, knowing that all but one family departs, offers a possibility that the 6 families may have travelled together. Might help in the search on the Canada side? I am wondering if you might recall which family remained in Ardochy, or if they may be a new family residing there in 1851? As well, I am reading in an article published by the Forest Commission on 19 August 2005 (which ironically is my Kennedy mother's birthday), of the adjacent village of Dangean, in the 1841 Census spelled Dangain. Recently discovered deep in the Glengarry Forest, and now preserved and open to the public to visit there. In my research of available maps, online, it seems that Ardochy village also disappeared. References to it being part of the estate of Edward Ellice, I see, but I have still to find a location for it. Ardochy Hunting Lodge possibly on the Loch Garry?
