I found out a year or so back that it hadn't been flooded and more recently I've been lucky enough to visit along with the sheep who were grazing there. It seemed poetic somehow as the move to clear us from the land was largely driven by a desire to replace us with more profitable sheep. Yes. the grave you saw with Anne McDonell ,wife of Ewen McDonald, merchant of Fort Augustus was my great great grandfather. 2. The original information I received about my McDonells came first from a letter to Clan Fraser Society of Canada from an old lady in her eighties in 1980s from NZ. My McDonells and Frasers moved around too. My William Fraser bc 1820 , son of William Fraser and Mary McDonell lived in Boleskine/Dores as did some of his other siblings. I have had little luck with finding more than that on Mary McDonell of Bunioch ( Invergarry). Would you have come across her grave I wonder? The last two years when I was back I have been around the Northern part of the Loch graveyards. This year I hope to venture to around Glen Garry area. Karen Donald Malaysia
