    3. Hi Christine Many thanks for your response. The intermarrying sure is confusing at times. There was another John Cameron and Catherine Kennedy (from Feychiarren, Kilmonivaig) who had children at the same time as "my" family. Feychiarren is another of those "towns" I have not been able to locate. To help identify which is "my" Cameron/ Kennedy family I have added below a transcription of the "certificate" I received from the GROS for the birth of Mary Cameron - my g g grandmo. I have found the immigration record of the whole family arriving in Australia so John was apparently an ex shepherd not an ex person. I have recently learned from a posting on the Mull list that such declarations were often made, prior to the family immigrating, if the births/baptisms had previously not been recorded. The death certificate here in Australia records Catherine Kennedy's parents being Duncan Kennedy and Sarah Buchanan and that she was born at Glencoe (the latter not so clear to read). As I said on the last posting, the reference to Mianacha only occurs on an IGI record placed by a member of their church. I agree that Briananach is likely to be a small farm or croft and I will certainly forward to you any useful information which may be forthcoming. Thanks again for the reply Brian ----------------------------------------------------------- Extract of entries in an OLD PAROCHIAL REGISTER 78773 Parish of Kilmonivaig County of Inverness children "The following of John Cameron late Shepherd Briananach, and of his wife Catherine Kennedy, were recorded here to day, by desire of his said wife as being born of the dates under mentioned,Alexander Cameron elder of the Kirk Session of Kilmoni vaig being present and attesting: ?
