Hello to All.What a great response i have recieved from your List Members on my search for Norman FINLAYSON. To answer some of your queries.I dont have a lot on NORMAN FINLAYSON basically only his Death Certificate. He was my Wife's Great Grandfather. On his Death Certificate it states the following. That he was born on the Isle of Skye, and that his Father was John Finlayson and his Mother was Anna Belle Finlayson(Maiden name Unknown). His Death was on the 12th of March 1925 at Chiltern,Victoria,Australia. And he was 82 Years old,and that he had been in Victoria73 Years. It Lists his Wife as Ann Watersand he was married aged 45 at Nurmarkah,Victoria.(I think that is the Town ,Hard to Decipher).Ihave not been able to locate a Marriage Certificate between him and Ann Waters at this stage. His son John William Finlayson was born in 1891 at Sandy Creek(Just out of Tallangatta,Victoria,Australia). He was my Wife's Grandfather .He was killed in the 1st World War in 1916 at France. I have located a Norman Finlayson who came out to Australia in 1852 on the ship"Hercules" Which left Campbelltown Scotland on the 26th of December 1852 and arrived in South Australia. He was with his Family and the Father was John but the Mother is Listed as Margaret(Not Anna Belle) and they came from the Parish of Snizort, County of Inverness it also states their Residence was Burnisdale.I am currently investigating that family and have located a bit on the I-G-Index but not much at this stage. Any help on Locating any Information would be most appreciated. Could anyone tell me how close is the Parish of Snizort to the Isle of Skye and does the Residence of Barisdale Mean anything to anyone.
