"Dundee Quebec descendent dies at 98" Mrs Elizabeth Jane Fraser Shaw, a descendent of a pioneer Dendee family died Friday Mar 18 1960 in the Wingham Ontario Canada General Hospital. She was the widow of Arthur Shaw of Bluevale Ontario who died in 1942. Funeral held Mar 21 from Bluevale United Churrch. A brother, Dr Charles McLean Fraser PhD LLD was professor in chief at the dept of zoology University of British Columbia Canada, and renowned world authority of Marind Biology. Their grandfather, William Fraser, a Highland soldier from Strath Dores, Invernesshire was one of the first settlers to farm and erect a homestead still standing at Dundee Center Quebec. The old soldiers wife was Isabella McLean from Scotland whom he married in 1833. A great grandson, Charles C Fraser occupies the ancestral home and farmlands. Hope this helps someone.
