I, too, can get no further back than mid-1700s. However, I'm interested in your McBain family. I have Donald McBains in my line. My McBains came from Alvie and I can go back as far as Donald McBain who married Margaret McIntyre. Their children were: Lachlan, a tailor, born around 1780 (my ggg grandfather) Patrick, born November 29, 1781 Margaret, born March 8, 1784 There may have been more children but that's all I can find. Does this tie in with any of yours? Regards, Linda Boyd

    3. Linda, have you reviewed the film for the Alvie parish register? It starts in 1713 and there are MANY McBains! I'm sure you'll find more leads.
