I presume others may have the same question so I am posting this message to the list as well - the N & Y are in the column "Birthplace" so my assumption is it stands for No and Yes as to being born is the area shown......to bad they didn't take the time to show where each was born - but I believe it's shown in the 1861 census for the area..... Now, I've also have inquries about finding the 1841 census on the Scotland Glens site - I had to split the cover page into two pages a little while ago as it was getting too big for my server - so I put all the Glenurquhart and Glenmoriston information on the first page - and all the Inverness-shire related information on the second - you should find the larger link to it at the bottom of the page (this is where the 1841 Fort William Census information is located)..... Scotland Glens - http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/bryanfkeddy/Glen1.html Hope this helps.... Bryan Keddy Halifax, N.S.
