Bryan You are deserving the thanks of many for your postings of the 1841 Census material and I and many others are looking forward to your continuing efforts. Thank you. You mention that you have incorporated a search mechanism (which I have not looked at yet) but in case anyone is interested there is a fairly simple way if you also have a spreadsheet such as Excel or Lotus installed on your machine. I was faced with searching for Angus Cameron and his wife Margaret (both common names) without knowing more than Angus was born in Fort William about 1812. Which page to look at???. The parish names were all strange to me and I tried by random search, page 3 then 5 then 1 - hard work!. Bright idea - highlight the text from top to bottom of page, copy (to clipboard), open Spreadsheet (I use Excel) and paste from clipboard to the first cell. It actually finishes up as multiple lines - all info in first column. Then use the find function built into the spreadsheet. I decided to use page 2 for this technique My search found about 15 Angus Camerons before I came to 'mine' in Mall - Moy. It gave me a real buzz. So some others may find this an alternative to a search facility on the site. It does have the advantage that the material can be manipulated to produce an extract for supporting ones data. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
