    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Macdonald, McIntyre Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TeC.2ACE/1094.6 Message Board Post: Athol: I am looking for any records of Donald Macdonald and Wife Katherine McIntyre Macdonald, and children Chrisy, Sarah, Mary, Katherine, Flora, Peggy, Angus. They emigrated to Canada as a part of the second Selkirk settlement (at Baldoon) in upper Canada near today's Wallaceburg. They left Scotland in early 1804 arriving in August. according to the Book The Silver Chief the family was from Laggan. This listing came from the original passanger list from the Oughten on arrival in Lachine Que. and notes in the marigins to differentiate the several Macdonald families from one another. According to the book the families initially collected at Tobermory in Mull before departing to Canada. According to Family records there is a discrepancy listing Donald Macdonald as Hector Macdonald. Family stories also say that "Hector" was separated from his brothers family sometime before departure and that a brother (unknown) and his family ended up leaving for Australia, while "Hector",or "Donald" and Family sailed for Canada. In 1804 "Donald" Macdonald of Laggan was listed as age 45, and his wife at age 37. The children ranged in age at ! the time from age 3 to age 15. If they are from Laggan there should be some record of their births in the time period of your research. Any help you might be able to provide would be appreciated. Thanks
