JOHN MAC KINNON - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 31 DEC 1866 Strath, Inverness, Scotland 2. MARGARET MAC KINNON - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Birth: 04 AUG 1859 Strath, Inverness, Scotland 3. NIEL MAC KINNON - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 07 JAN 1864 Strath, Inverness, Scotland I then checked for marriages for Donald and Margaret on Family Search and they showed two: 1. DONALD MCKINNON - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Male Marriage: 02 SEP 1858 Lochalsh, Ross And Cromarty, Scotland 2. DONALD MACKINNON - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Male Marriage: 01 MAR 1849 Sleat, Inverness, Scotland The 1858 marriage is available to view on Scotlands People, the official Scottish pay-to-view BMD and census records site at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ On this site you can also view census data between 1871/81/91/1901. I had a look at 1871 for John McKinnon, age 4-6, in Strath, Inverness-shire and there are five showing. If you view, you might get a clearer indication as to where Margaret and Donald (parents) were born as shown on the census return. This in turn will help you to find a marriage cert. in order to obtain additional information on John's grandparents. Hope this helps! Regards. Monica
