My ancestor John Martin was a member of Kilmuir parish on and was born in Stenscholl Skye. He left with his family in 1826 to live on Prince Edward Island, Canada. I know the LDS records for Kilmuir parish begin in 1823 and I haven't found any records for my family in the three year period between 1823-1826. Does anyone know if any Kilmuir parish records exist before 1823? Also, are there any known family histories of the Martin family in Skye which might be available? I read somewhere they were a branch of the MacDonald clan and wonder if that is true. Julie Martin
