Hi Linda, I have a similar marriage of Robert Aitken (born in Walston, Lanarkshire) to Isabella Tudhope on 15 July 1836, proclaimed in Campbeltown, Argyllshire where they settled down after marriage, but married at Poneil, Parish of Douglas, Lanarkshire (home of the bride). The actual wording (some printed, some handwritten) on the certificate reads: "That Robert Aitken of this parish and Isabella Tudehope of Douglas have been proclaimed in the Parish Churches here, in order for Marriage, and no objections made - is attested at Campbeltown, the thirteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and thirty six years, by John Kelly (signed) Sess. Clerk. At Campbeltown, the 13th day of July 1836. In different handwriting: 15 July 1836 The above-mentioned parties were married by me, at Poneil, parish of Douglas. Alex. Stewart (signed) Minister of Douglas". Best Wishes, John Johnston
