Greetings from Nova Scotia! I am researching my daughter-in-laws family so that I may one day have some family history to pass on to my wonderful grandchildren. Her family are Fraser's of Stellarton,N.S. and my research has led me to her great-grandfather Ronald Duncan Fraser who married a Colin Chisholm of Antigonish County, N.S., son of Valentine Chisholm born c 1803 in Scotland. Valentine emigrated to Canada sometime after the 1844 time frame. He had two children born in Scotland, James c 1831 and Isabella born c 1844. What I need now is to find out where he emigrated from and what his wife's name was and his parent's names and any other ancestors I can find. They were of the Roman Catholic faith and as near as I can figure out all the Roman Catholic Scots emigrated from the Inverness County area, probably Strathglass (or so I have been told). Would anybody be able to help a poor old Grammy out here!! LOL I would be most appreciative of any help since I don't foresee a trip to Scotland in my future as we are retired and living on a VERY fixed income.
