Does anyone have access to the 1841 census for Boleskine? I engaged a professional researcher from Edinburgh who has told me that my anscestors, Alexander 1791 & wife Janet 1796 were recorded at Leek a/w several sons on this census. Unfortunately now he's been paid he doesn't answer my emails. I need to know if there is any other details that will help me find Leek. From here in Australia it is very difficult to imagine what the place Leek might have been in the 1840's. Is it a village, an area, a farm?. I can't find it on any map. He told me that there were a lot of McDonalds at Leek so I'm hoping that this might be the family base as it were. David Port Fairy Australia
