Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TeC.2ACE/1390 Message Board Post: Could someone please look on the 1871 census for Inverness at 20, Kings St, and tell me the name of the family that are living there. On the 1861 census it was the home of Charles and Jessie McFadyen and family. I am trying to find out if all of the family stayed in Inverness, and if I have found the right Charles and Jessie McFadyen with daughters Jessie and Jane on the 1871 census in Middlesex. Many thanks Karen.

    1. Donald CAMERON
    2. Pat Marshall
    3. This is no doubt a silly question but is there anyone here researching the name CAMERON. I have a Donald Cameron born about 1827 in Blarachaorin, Fort William, third son of Duncan & Jean Cameron. It would appear that he was a minister, according to the 1881 census. According to information sent to me today, he died in Blarour, Spean Bridge 30 June 1897. His son Robert Melville Gentle Cameron immigrated to Canada in 1894. He had Sarah Large Cameron 10 Aug 1868 m James Campbell Duncan Cameron 11 Oct 1869 Robert Cameron 21 June 1871 Jean 5 1873 Margaret 4 Feb 1878 If anyone is connected to this family and has more info, I should love to hear from them. 2. Val Burge
    3. Lila it's NONE of the variations you have :-) It's actually Inverness-shire, with a hyphen. If you were to just write 'Inverness' it would be about the town, not the entire area, which is ginormous. Or Inverness, omitting the word Shire? At present it reads as follows: "John Og McIntosh was born on 6 March 1753 in Inverrnesshire, Scotland. He died on 28 Jan 1829 in Wabash County, Illinois. 2. Sue & Dave Helps
    3. I have been trying to find out for a very long time where my gr grandfather, Walter Grieve Mundell (b. 1838 d. 1902) is buried. I was delighted to find his obituary on the Scotsman Digital Archive site. It states "Funeral to Urray Churchyard on Friday leaving Inverlael 8:30 A.M." I would very much appreciate if anyone has access to Monument Inscriptions for the Urray Churchyard if they could check to see if he is in fact there and if there are any other 'Mundells' buried there. I am guessing that Walter's father also Walter Grieve Mundell (b. 1784 d. 1864) may be there as well as two sons of my gr grandfather's who died in infancy - Archibald Mclean Mundell (d. 1884) and Charles Howatson Mundell (d. 1887/8). Thank you in advance. Sue Helps Calgary, Alberta, Canada

    1. Where is BALNAIN?: Inverness-shire, Ross-shire? KILLEARNAN or URRAY Parish?
    2. BILL DORGAN
    3. Listers: I know there is a BALNAIN near Drumnadrochit, in Inverness-shire, which I believe would be KILLEARNAN Parish. But in the late 18th century (1770s+) was there another BALNAIN in or near KILCOY or PARKTON? And would this have been URRAY Parish? I have a baptism certficate for my GGGG Grandfather, WILLIAM which states: "William was born to John MacKenzie and Isobel Stewart in Balnain". This comes from the Office of Public Records in Urray, Scotland. Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks in advance.
