    3. Thankyou Heather, the details are correct, as a matter of interest. I`m a member of several lists, and whenever I respond to a request I usually click reply all, this may save others from responding, it also puts the information into the archives, when I reply I also send that to the list (unless it is something sensitive or personal) so that again, list members won`t need to duplicate information. It also lets other list members know that I`m not some ill mannered pig who never learned any manners. Thanks again, Joe Austen in OZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Heather" <familytree1@ntlworld.com> To: <SCT-INVERNESS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 15, 2006 11:25 AM Subject: [SCT-INV] sorry folks did not mean to post it > Sorry did not mean to post this too the list > >

    3. Thanks Lorraine, yes it is the right family and Catherine is right, it appears that the building must have been a multiple dwelling structure, the grandchildren belong to the oldest daughter "Barbara Thomson" (nee MacBeath), what I was hoping for was some way round having to enter an address in the search box. alternatively can you tell me how I can purchase my own CD set. Surnames: McIntosh/Mackintosh Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/TeC.2ACE/1422 Message Board Post: Hello all, Could I please ask for some help finding the 1841 census for Rachel McIntosh/Mackintosh born Inverness. In 1851 she is a widow age 53, and living on 36 High Street with her daughters, Jemisina 19?, Lydia 16, Matilda 11 and Margaret 8. I'm hoping that her husband is Alexander McIntosh/Mackintosh. In particular I'd like to find if Rachel had any other children (as I have a possible Alexander, Elizabeth, Donald), and what her husband's occupation was. Thanks so much for any help you can give. 1. 1881 census for Inverness
    2. Joe Austen
    3. I seek a little advice, regarding the above. I have had a little success recently between the IGI and Scotlands People. I believe that my g grandmother (Rebecca Macbeth or MacBeath, was born in Inverness in 1858, even though her marriage certificate would lead one to believe that she was born in 1865, anyway the Rebecca that I believe is the one, I have found in the 1861 and 1871 censii of Inverness with her parents, in service in London for the 1891(with a probable birthdate of 1862 and with my g grandfather, and my grandmother etcetera for the 1901. But the 1881 is causing me problems, I cannot find Rebecca on either the Ancestry or LDS versions of the England and Wales 1881 census, And on Scotlands People they want the address in the 1881, Rebeccas` parents lived at the same address at least from 1871 to 1897 when her father died and her mother died there in 1907 but nothing comes up for 1881, the address in question is 4 Frasers Close, Muirtown Road Inverness. Whilst I`m at it is Inverness-shire correct, or is there no hyphen. or what. Regards Joe Austen in OZ (Ex Pom)

    1. MacIsaac
    2. Hello All: Wondering if there are any MacIsaac's from South Uist that might be currently carrying out any research on ancestors that left South Uist for (Cape Breton Island) Nova Scotia between 1817-1823. My great-great grandfather Angus MacIsaac, brothers, Roderick (b. 1791), Alexander (b.1792), and Donald or John MacIsaac made the voyage across the Atlantic to Canada during those early years...and took up land grants in the St. Andrew's Channel area along the Bra d'or lakes on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. We have yet to determine from which area of South Uist was their ancestoral home....any help would be most appreciated.... Regards, Sandra MacIsaac

    3. Elizabeth, I have James McDonald born about 1819 at Abriachan, Inverness. His father is listed as James McDonald on his death certificate. The informant was his son James and he didn't know who James' mother was. The oldest James was a crofter. James, born 1819 was a flesher, labourer and a carter on different censuses. He married Euphemia McPhee 1850 in Inverness, Inverness. They have 9 children. Does anything sound familiar? Joyce
