    1. [SCT-INV] M I's for the Old Inverlochy Cemetery
    2. Kay and Greg Blackburn
    3. Hello All. Is there SKS on the list who could check if the MI's have been done for the Old Inverlochy Cemetery. I am looking for a record of DUGALD AND JANET MACNAUGHTON. The date for death for either is not known, but family tradition says that all of the MacNaughton family has been buried there. If the MI's have been done I would like to know if Janet's age is given on the inscription. Her maiden was Kennedy. Regards to all Greg in New Zealand. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 1. [SCT-INV] Fraser James and Stephen Ann married 1794

    3. I am looking for a clue to my great great grandfather's parents. His name is Donald Fraser b. 1805 in Inverness, Scotland. LDS files show two such Donald Fraser b. 1805 in Inverness. One with parents being James Fraser b. circa 1769 in Inverness, Scotland who married Ann Stephen b. circa 1773 of Inverness, Scotland. They married on December 10, 1794. They had 5 children all born in Inverness. John Fraser b. January 08, 1796 Ann Fraser b. October 23 1797 Isabel Fraser b. December 12 1801 Donald Fraser b. February 08 1805 Ann Fraser b. May 10, 1807 My Donald Fraser was born in 1805 came to America at age ?. In 1842 he married Jane McIntosh in the Scottish Settlement near Yellow Creek and Wellsville, Columbiana County, Ohio, USA. Jane McIntosh is the daughter of William McIntosh b. circa 1773 in Scotland (son of Alexander McIntosh who came with his family to the Scottish Settlement about 1800 and help settle Ohio land in Columbiana County, Ohio). Jane McIntosh's mother was Isabelle Fraser b. circa 1789 in Inverness, Scotland (not related to my Donald Fraser) daughter of Duncan and Nancy Fraser who immigrated to America before 1809 and granddaughter of Hugh Fraser and Jannet Willison of Inverness. Clue: The only child of Donald Fraser and Jane McIntosh's name is James A. (may stand for Alexander) Fraser b. 1843 near Wellsville, Ohio. That would make him named for James Fraser and Alexander McIntosh his grandfathers. Donald died of disease in 1844 a year after his only child was born and is buried in the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Cemetery in Madison Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. One other choice remains of possible parents to Donald Fraser b. 1805 in Inverness are parents Hugh Fraser and Ann Fraser. Only one family clue exists for Donald Fraser b. 1805 is that he had only one brother who had one son. The second choice of parents are Hugh Fraser and Ann Fraser are listed with three boys and 2 girls. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Seeking living relatives if possible. Surnames: MacDonald, McDonald Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TeC.2ACE/1156 Message Board Post: I am interested in the name Iain MacEoghainn Bhain in Glenmoriston, especially the time frame of 1690 - 1750. In relation to a 1970 letter written by Dr William Matheson of the Department of gaelic at Edinburgh University - I have extracted the following information and would appreciate any local information on it. ....Iain MacEoghainn Oig (John MacDonald - abt 1723-1795) departed Glenmoriston or Glenurquhart, Inverness-shire in Sept 1775 with sons Duncan, Alexander, James, Hugh, and daughters Mary, Christy, Ann & Helen on the Ship Glasgow. Oral family tradition has been passed down by word and in print through successive generations associating this Glenmoriston_Glenurquhart MacDonald family to those who helped MacIain's son and heir escape from Glencoe in 1692 >From other information dating back to 1775, Dr Matheson came to the conclusion that the father of Iain MacEoghain Oig was Iain MacEoghainn Bhain and the family originated in Glenmoriston. Dr Matheson also speculated that this was the line of Iain MacEoghainn Bhain, a Glenmoriston 'bard' from the 16th century. I am aware of the note regarding the 5 'tribes' of MacDonalds in Glenmoriston within the following qoutes regarding the Grants of Glenmoriston: "Big John led his people into Glenmoriston, built his house there and settled his people, but there were five tribes of MacDonalds in Glenmoriston and it took several generations to subdue them. Those 5 tribes were Iain Ruaidh Illeasbuig Iain Chaoil Alasdair Eoghain Bhain" Any information is appreciated Regards, Ben MacDonald Glendale, Arizona

    3. Hi all Would anyone have access please to a census for Inverness for 1851(or for maybe some date before that) for a lookup for some McDONALDS that I am searching for. I have hit a brick wall in searching for them and any help would be appreciated. These are the family I am searching for:- ANGUS MCDONALD married to JESSIE ? (Maiden surname not known) parents of the 3 children (or maybe more) given below - "KITTY" or KATHLEEN/CATHERINE MCDONALD b circa 1824. (She remained single) ARCHIBALD MCDONALD b circa 1826. (Married in Australia well after 1855) MARY MCDONALD b circa 1831.(My direct ancestor) (See below re her marriage in 1855 in Scotland) MARY MCDONALD was born in Inverness. This was on her death certificate - not sure if this was the Shire or the city. She married in circa 1855 in Lochaber to EWEN CAMERON who was born 2/1/1794 in Lochaber. He was in his 60's when they married and she was in 20's. The couple moved to Australia in circa 1857. If it helps at all, all this McDONALD family were Roman Catholics. With thanks Marilyn Bulkeley [email protected]
