Hi Folks. My wifes father was 10 years old when he was put in an orphanage/workhouse due to his mother dying in 1914. The family were living in Pleasance at the time and were Roman Catholics. It appears that he spent most of his time running away until they gave up and let him stay at home. Please can SKS suggest the name of a orphanage/workhouse that would have been local to him.
