Forrest Sorry, no military connection that I'm aware of, mostly Cabinetmakers and Golf Clubmakers. I'm looking for the burial place of my great-great grandfather, Thomas AITKEN, of Thomas Aitken and Sons, Brunstsfield Place, who died in February 1919. On a visit to Edinburgh, I spent a couple of days walking round nearby Cemeteries but didn't find anything. Recently I found a funeral notice in The Scotsman which stated that he was to be buried in Morningside Cemetery. He was the widower of Elizabeth AITKEN, nee VEITCH. Elizabeth appears in the 1891 Census so she died between 1891 and 1919 but I haven't been able to pinpoint the date yet. It's possible that she had been buried in Morningside. Also some of their children may be buried there - Alexander AITKEN, Golf Pro at Gullane, who died in Edinburgh in 1944 Adam AITKEN, died 1899 James AITKEN, died 1943 Samuel AITKEN, ? Another son, my great-grandfather, John AITKEN, is buried in Portrush, Co Antrim, where he was Clubmaker to Royal Portrush.
