Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might possibly find the death of a SAMUEL FORREST who died in EDINBURGH around 1830 - 1831 please? I know very little on him just bits and pieces from references in family letters. Thank you. Dorothy
Unfortunately formal registration wasn't necessary until 1855. You might find some information if someone were to find them in a Memorial Inscription. If there was a marriage of their children after 1855 you might be able to establish the relationship there. The Parish registers might provide the information you need. Dorothy: There are three databases on my web site, www.scotsfind.org, re burial that might help you. Check out the Canongate and Greyfriars interments and the St. Cuthberts inscriptions.
