YOu can see Tower Street on all three maps listed here http://www.nls.uk/maps/early/towns.html#portobello to orientate yourself, find the point where Brighton St and Bath St cross the High Street, and then let your eye run northwards. I think Tower St is now Figgate St and there has been quite a lot of building in the area.
