I would just like to thank all those who offered advice on my search to find my great grandmother Isabella Rutherford, born 1846 Edinburgh/Paisley, father William Rutherford, Coachman or illegitimate). I have tried most of the suggestions. I have spent the morning on Scotland's People, without success. A long shot was the 1851 Census transcription of Gunnfunde. I thought it could be William Rutherford with a daughter Isabella. I have found the family on the 1851 Census on Scotland's People and the family were - GUNN. The head of the household was Mrs. Gunn (female) and had been transcribed as William Gunnfunde, so that is another family I can cross of my list. I tried entering Rutherford, female, born 1846, without a first name, as someone suggested. The only likely one was Augusta Isabella Rutherford, born 1846, father William, mother Isabella nee King. William was born in Roxburgh and Isabella King was born in Edinburgh and the family were living in Argyll. When I found them, they also had a daughter Isabella, but she was born in 1841 in Argyll. Another family to cross out. I am running out of ideas. Kind regards, Anne in Bolton.
