Hello, Apologies in advance for this long winded posting. I am desperately seeking a death record for my aunt who I am lead to believe died in 1960 in Skegness. My brother, her god son ,is very keen to have this information to finish a chapter in a book he is writing. I have searched the English death records and so far have been unable to locate a record so am now assuming she may have died in Edinburgh, her place of birth or even Perth. Person's name is Margaret (aka, Rita) Elizabeth Husband WIDDOWSON (nee SMITH) She was born Edinburgh c 1907 to Charles Irvine SMITH and Catherine Gellatly MURDOCH. She had an older sister Isabella Irvine SMITH bn 1904 and a brother Charles SMITH who may have been younger. He was the informant to our family of her death but now as time has passed there is nobody able to tell me exactly where she died. She married Arnold Freeman WIDDOWSON, a New Zealand service man, February 1942, Cairo, Egypt. He was killed at El Alamein October 1942. My aunt was an army nursing sister. Records so far searched with no success are UK Death indexes from 1956 to 1964 for Margaret Elizabeth Husband WIDDOWSON UK Death indexes 1956-1964 for Margaret Elizabeth Husband SMITH UK Death indexes 1956-1964 for Rita Elizabeth Husband SMITH UK Death indexes 1956-1964 for Rita Elizabeth Husband WIDDOWSON. Have checked on Scotland's People but as the entries only go to 1956 no luck there. I have also searched UK marriage indexes and so far not found a 2nd marriage for her. I would be very grateful if somebody with access to death records from 1956-1964 for either Edinburgh or Perth would be so kind as to do a look up for me or give me some advise as where to try next.
