Hello I am a new member of this list and I am hoping that someone can help me with some localities - Port Hopeloun, Bank Field parish of Newton, and Sutton. I have a marriage entry for some ancestors:- From a register of Banns and Marriages dated 12 June 1826 MARRIAGE St Cuthbert's Edinburgh, Co of Midlothian Register of Marriages in 1826 HAMILTON and FALCONER Peter HAMILTON, Plumber, residing in #8 Downie Place, Port Hopeloun, and Helen FALCONER, residing in same place, both in this parish, Daughter of Alexander FALCONER farmer at Bank Field parish of Newton, have been three times proclaimed in order to marriage in the Parish of St. Cuthbett, and no objections have been offered. In 1841 I found Alexander FALCONER and Peter HAMILTON living in Sunderland Co Durham, England. Later census records, Peter gives his place of birth as Sutton, Scotland. I am trying to find his father's name. Any help locating these various places would be most appreciated Heather Saskatoon, Canada
